Bahrain Metro is a driverless transit system; its 1st phase covers 20 elevated stations in the Kingdom. 1st  phase of Bahrain Metro is of 109km rail transit network with two lines i.e., 29 km with 20 stations and 109km after completion. The Bahrain Metro Project was announced by Bahrain’s Transportation and Telecommunication Minister Mohammad Al Kaabi. The contract period is 35 years and will be operational in 2025. The estimated cost for this project was $2 Billion. Bahrain Metro comprises four lines with two phases; phase one is for Red & Blue. The expected ridership of the mentioned project is 43,000 an hour & 200,000 per day at completion.
