Ras Al Khaimah experienced significant tourism growth in 2022, with room night demand increasing by 33.6%. New hotel brands, such as Earth Hotels, Le Meridien, and Nobu Hotels, contributed to this growth. These additions have solidified the region's position in the hospitality industry as a tourist destination.
In 2023, Ras Al Khaimah achieved record-breaking tourism figures with 600k visitors in the first six months, a 14.8% increase from H1 2022. The region introduced Responsible RAK, a sustainable tourism strategy, and partnered with Qatar Airways to enhance global connectivity. Moreover, an agreement with FTI GROUP aimed to boost inbound traffic from Germany.
In 2024, Ras Al Khaimah will open Westin Resort (257 keys) and Sofitel Al Hamra (300 keys). The region will also introduce Nobu Al Marjan Island (300 keys) and Earth Shore Al Marjan Island (265 keys) to its growing hotel portfolio. Ras Al Khaimah will also focus on boosting MICE tourism and establishing itself as a premier wedding destination through the Wedding Certification Program.
In 2025, Ras Al Khaimah will open Le Méridien Al Marjan Island Resort (350 keys) and Anantara Mina Al Arab (174 keys). The region aims to double the hotel keys, enhance global connectivity, and attract international visitors. By 2026, Ras Al Khaimah plans to open Nobu Al Marjan Island (300 keys) and achieve Silver Certification for over 20 tourism businesses.
In 2027, Ras Al Khaimah will double its hotel room inventory. It will host more than 15 international hotel operators and continue its progress towards becoming a major global tourist destination.
