Unveiling Jeddah Historic District Heritage Hotels Restoration Project

The Jeddah Historic District Heritage Hotels Restoration Project is a remarkable initiative that involves restoring and regenerating historic properties into luxury hotels. This project, launched in 2024, is currently ongoing. It has three historic properties—House of Jokhdar, Al Rayess, and Kedwan. The properties have already been transformed into luxury hotels.

Collaboration with historians, locals, artists, carpenters, and architects has been carried out to ensure authenticity. Also, it preserves the original layout and design while incorporating modern amenities. This project will give the historic properties a new lease of life.

Seventeen rooms have opened across the three properties in the project's third year, 2026. To offer guests a unique and authentic cultural experience, personalized guest experiences with customized amenities and services are provided. A centralized restaurant has also been established. It offers set menus for breakfast and lunch featuring local flavours. The restaurant seeks to showcase the local cuisine to guests while preserving the region's authenticity.

Furthermore, guests are offered complimentary airport transfers to provide a stress-free experience. These efforts aim to ensure guests have a memorable stay and become ambassadors of the region's cultural heritage. The project is on track to become a prime destination for travellers seeking a unique and authentic cultural experience.

In the sixth year of the JHDHHR Project, significant progress has been made towards restoring heritage properties into luxury hotels. The project plans to have 165 keys across 34 heritage properties by 2027. The restoration efforts remain focused on heritage preservation and the cultural significance of the properties.

The project has collaborated with historians, locals, artists, carpenters, and architects to preserve the original layout and design of the properties while incorporating modern amenities. Furthermore. this approach ensures the maintenance of the properties' historical significance. The Jeddah Historic District Heritage Hotels Restoration Project is a testament to the value of preserving cultural heritage while providing guests with a unique and luxurious experience.
